Simple Habit is a mindfulness app that targets multiple areas of a student’s personality. After taking an initial assessment that covers three areas (Mind, Body, Soul) Simple Habit will design a personalized seven day plan to target areas on which the student wants to work.
There are guided meditation sessions, uplifting interviews, and many other resources to target the area on which the student needs to focus. Some content is available free of charge but aspects of the plan require a subscription.
Because the app requires some reading and writing skills for the initial assessment, younger students may need the assistance of a parent.
Self-Awareness: Understanding our own actions, thoughts and feelings.
The app’s initial assessment asks students some personal questions about how they behave on a daily basis and how they feel about themselves and what they have accomplished. Students need to practice their self-awareness skills by answering these questions as honestly as possible. If they do not, the app will not be able to recommend effective strategies for dealing with areas of improvement.
Self-Control: Managing our actions, feelings and behaviors.
Part of mindfulness is being able to focus on oneself and excluding outside distractions. Students will need to utilize their self-control skills to stay focused on the activities and give them their full attention. If they do not do this, the exercises will not be as effective.
