Let’s Play Stardew Valley: Fresh Starts and Flexibility

This week on the Learning Works For Kids Lets Play channel, Ryan starts an adventure in a new farming simulation/RPG (role playing game) called Stardew Valley. In this episode, Ryan’s character quits his bleak office job after inheriting his grandfather’s run-down farm in rural Stardew Valley.

Ryan has to exercise the flexibility thinking skill as he starts this new game and learns what is expected of him, in much the same way that his in-game character must be flexible to adjust to life as a small-time farmer. Watch as Ryan gets to work and meets some of the citizens of Stardew Valley, including Lewis, the mayor of Pelican Town and Robin, the local carpenter. You’ll understand why transforming this farm will take time, hard work, and help from neighbors and friends.

And in the next Stardew Valley episode, Ryan will explain how the organization thinking skill can help when we’re faced with an overwhelming challenge.
