Hey everyone, welcome to Learningworks for Kids Game Spotlights! This is a new series where we will be walking through some of your favorite games and talking about how playing them can help you get better at real-world skills!
Quick Disclaimer! Although this game is very popular, we recommend ages 12 and up for this game!
Today we are going to be talking about Fortnite! Fortnite is a third person shooter from Epic Games where you play in a post-apocalyptic world taking down zombie-like monsters known as Husks. The original game features the ability to build forts all stretching all over the world map so that you can build up your defense while attacking the in-game monsters.
Fortnite now has four main game modes: Battle Royale, Party Royale, Creative, and Save the World. The first three of these modes are free-to-play and feature gameplay with other people online. Fortnite requires players to use their self-awareness and self-control skills when dealing with the possibility of losing and interacting with other people online. If you are looking to build your own game levels or just make your island look just the way you want, use planning skills in creative mode to make Fortnite your own unique experience.
