Today we are going to be talking about a game where luck is everything! We are talking about the rogue-like game Dicey Dungeons! This is a game where players are turned into dice and then pitted against Lady Luck herself to see if they can escape her dungeon and win their heart’s desire…do dice have hearts? Each die is a different class and comes with different abilities? Want to hack and slash your way through the dungeons? The Warrior might be your best bet. Want to get complicated and brew up some spells? Give the social-media obsessed Witch a try. When the player enters a level of the dungeon, they see a map with a few options for traveling. Sometimes you will encounter health apples, sometimes a merchant will appear to sell you additional healing or attack items. And sometimes you have no choice but to fight one of the game’s many bizarre enemies. Combat uses randomly generated six-sided dice. You use the numbers on the dice to pay the cost on attacks, healing spells, status effects, and other types of alterations. Reaching your limit break will allow you to perform a special action that can really help out in a tough battle. Completing certain parts of the game will help unlock other dice characters with different levels of complexity. If you want to give the dice a roll and press your luck, definitely give Dicey Dungeons a try.
This game is a great way for players to practice their flexibility skills. Because each die is a different class with different abilities, there are so many ways to play through this game. And because the classes increase in complexity, there are characters to play as a beginner and ones to try when you feel more comfortable with how the game works. For players who want to just play a few rounds and see how they feel, the Warrior is the best option.
This game is also a great way for players to practice their planning skills. The enemies that the player encounters will have varying abilities and HP, meaning that the player will need to use their planning skills to take them down as quickly as possible. The amount of dice you receive at the beginning of your turn is finite, meaning that the player really needs to look at what they have available to attack, heal, or readjust their stats before taking action. Again, for players who want to get comfortable with the game and how to plan out, give the Warrior or the Thief a good run before moving on to the more complex characters.
What class is your favorite in Dicey Dungeons? Let me know down below what you think. I myself am partial to the Witch and the Robot. Also again, if you liked the video hit the like button.
