Cube Escape: Seasons is a puzzle/escape/click and point game where players must escape from a room which they cannot exit in a traditional way. Instead, players have to comb the room for clues, constantly “putting two and two together” in an attempt to figure out what to do next. Objects critical to the escape are hidden somewhere within the four walls, perhaps tucked away in a draw, or only visible though a certain type of light or lens. Cube Escape seasons takes players though spring, summer, fall, and winter in a number or different time periods — all within the memory of the player controlled character — who we rarely see. Though the general set up of the room doesn’t change all that much, but it’s functionality and hidden surprises (unsettling or not) certainly do. It’s not a game for the faint of heart, as players are always on edge, never quite knowing if they are on the right track. There is some blood, which adds to Cube Escape’s overall disturbing atmosphere. However, this should not detract from the overall effectiveness of the game, as it really stimulates players logically and creatively. We think this game is best suited for children over the age of 12.
